7 Best Passive Marketing Ideas for Real Estate

7 Best Passive Marketing Ideas for Real Estate

There are a multitude of passive ideas to help you in the marketing of your real estate business, but these are seven of the best. All can be had for a minimum of cost depending on which route you take, and you can have most in hand, in days, if not hours.

  1. Shirts, hats, scarves, workout gear – any clothing that will passively advertise that you are a Realtor, or real estate professional.
  2. Mugs, cups, and various kitchen items – these are must to have for yourself, and make a great gift for clients, and farm prospects.
  3. Pens, pencils, and other office products – great for your own desk, but like mugs, make great gifts to give to clients, and prospects so you are always out in front of them.
  4. Bags and carry-alls – a great item to use at the store, farmers market, or just to and from the office. Not only can you use one to passively market your business, but you can have them branded to your business to market yours. A great gift for clients, and prospects alike.
  5. Jewelry for men and women – there are a LOT of items in this category, and all make a great way to market your real estate business, and your success.
  6. Automobile items – you can passively market your real estate business, by using such items as license plate holders, stickers for the car, and even car wraps. Driving your farm, or a new neighborhood, everyone will identify with you being a Realtor, or real estate pro.
  7. The last item is a great way to passively market your business, after the sale. Letting your clients friends, family and colleagues know who helped them buy or sell their home, and in hoping they may call you as well. Items such as cutting boards, plaques, various artwork and other client gifts.

These are just a few of the creative ways that you can market your real estate business, and not spend a lot of money doing it. St Joseph Statue to Sell a House

St Joseph Statue to Sell a House

St Joseph Statue to Sell a HouseThis tool using the statue of St. Joseph for selling a home has been around for years. A Catholic idea, which includes the statue of St Joseph and often times prayer, you or your client don’t have to be Catholic to try it.

When I was trying to sell my home many years ago, I tried this (the market is floundering at the time in my area), and I found myself getting three (3) buyers in the six (6) months that it took to sell the house. No, I’m not saying that is what it made it sell, but maybe it helped?!

Of course, when I was selling that home I also made sure that I staged it correctly, removed clutter, and was very willing and able to show it at a moments notice. I wanted it sold, and I was willing to do whatever it took to help my agent at the time to make it happen. Yet, maybe St. Joseph helped.

These are instructions you should follow on how to prepare to use the statue in your own, or a clients yard, including prayers that you could use.

Amazon offers several types of statues, and some are offered at the links below. They vary in price, and I don’t think that there is a one-size fits all, so you take your pick. Most sets do include instructions, and prayers to say, or use this link.

Just a reminder, I do earn a fee from Amazon.com for any purchase you may make, but it doesn’t cost you a cent more. Just allows me to continue sharing products and ideas to help you sell more homes!

The Power of the Card

The Power of the Card

With the advent of the internet in the mid to late 90’s, the power of the pen, and more specifically the power of the greeting card has changed drastically. Whereas in the days before, a real pen was used to communicate, but that has been replaced by the electronic mediums of email, and now even more often text. However, the pen can still be powerful.

Something that I have found in my own business is that when a client has a special day, has a Birthday, or Anniversary perhaps of them buying their home, I try to send a card. Yes, a real card, not an E-card, and not an email.

I often get a phone call in return, or sometimes an email, but in the end, usually a “thank you” of some type. An acknowledgement of the receipt of the card, and sometimes I hear that I was the only one to remember their special day. I never know how to react to that statement by the way.

So, what does it do for me you ask? Actually nothing monetarily. Sure it could be argued that in Real Estate any “touch” is a good thing, but I don’t really do it for that reason. I really just do it because it feels good to acknowledge a clients day. To let another person know that they are being thought of. I know that I like it, so why would I not do it for others.

If you choose to take up using the pen again, a great way to save some money, and some time is buying the cards in bulk. That way you will always have a couple for each occasion close at hand, and ready for use when you need them.

When you buy them, I prefer the blank card inside, since it allows me to write my own message. That keeps you from having only a card for a lady, when you want to send one to a man, or perhaps religious when you have a client that is not so much so.

This is a link to some of those that I have ordered in the past, and there are many others available online here. The selection that I like offers a bit of everything, from Sympathy, to thank you, to Birthday, and many other styles. Most have clean, crisp finishes and artwork, so they will be well received, and most likely showcased on a mantle or dresser for a few days after receiving.

Do something nice for someone, and see what happens. You may make someone smile, and you may get a big smile in return.

Also, if you already send snail-mail to clients, and you do it for other reasons, share them below. Maybe there are occasions that you have thought of that we can send good cheer to others?

Here is a link to Amazon, where you can see numerous greeting card styles, and quantities available for purchase. Just a reminder, I am an affiliate, and though you don’t pay any more for anything you buy at Amazon, they will pay me a small fee, that I use to keep this site up-and-running. Best Way to Protect Your iPad Pro

IPad Pro case w/handles for Realtors

If you are like me, you love your iPad. You also, love what all your iPad can do, from registering open house guests, to using it to show competing listings to your clients when touring homes. I also know of, and have considered using it in listing presentations more often than I currently do. My iPad Pro is my go to device, whenever I want to be out and about, but not have my Mac Book Pro in tow.

To be able to take my iPad everywhere that I want to go, and do it safely, I knew that I would have to get a good case for it. A case that would protect it (to a certain degree, please read the specs.), and yet allow me to carry it easily, hide it when necessary, and overall allow me to feel comfortable to take it with me. If you don’t feel comfortable carrying it, then you won’t use it, so why bother.

I looked at a lot of types of cases, and came up with this one. Offered by Amazon, and being part of their Basics program, I have found this case with handles to be a great option. I have been very pleased, and I have even had my own clients ask me where I got it, since they wanted one too.
